Our Church
St Michael's Church, a short walk and a long history
We are a Church of England Voluntary Aided primary school and we are proud of our strong and longstanding link with Weeton St Michael's Church. Every week we gather there for worship led by the Reverend, whose guidance and messages help nurture our Christian vision and values.
Those weekly services give our children the chance to reflect, to celebrate and to grow in faith together. The partnership enriches school life, strengthens our sense of belonging and supports the spiritual development of every child.
Our children do not just attend. They take part and they lead, at Mothering Sunday, Harvest, Remembrance and Advent.

We believe every child is a precious and unique creation, filled with God-given potential waiting to flourish. Even the smallest beginnings can grow into something remarkable when they are nurtured with love, faith and encouragement.

Worship is the heartbeat of our week
Gathering together gives our children the chance to pause, to wonder and to grow. Through shared stories, prayer, song and moments of stillness, they explore big questions, meet Christian values in action and feel that they belong. It is a small school, so every voice is heard and every child is missed when they are not there.

Worship helps children flourish emotionally, socially and spiritually. It gives them space to wonder, to feel supported and to connect with something greater than themselves.
Big questions, asked properly
We follow the Questful RE curriculum, an approach built around enquiry rather than recall. Children are encouraged to ask difficult questions, to think deeply and to build real respect for different religions and worldviews.
It makes RE vibrant, inclusive and rooted in our Christian ethos, and it supports children's spiritual, moral and cultural development across every year group.
In small mixed-age classes, those discussions go further than they can in a class of thirty. Every child gets to speak, and every child gets heard.

A small village school with its eyes on the world
Weeton is a small place. The world our children will grow into is not. Through RE, collective worship and spiritual development, our pupils explore a wide range of faiths, beliefs and world issues, and they learn respect, curiosity and empathy for the global community they belong to.

Active global citizens
Our pupils take a real role in global citizenship through our Worship Leaders and Young Citizen Clubs, made up of representatives from every year group. They meet regularly to plan and lead initiatives in school and out in the community.
We keep strong links with the wider community and support charities locally, nationally and internationally. Our children understand that what they do has an effect on other people's lives.
Courageous advocacy
We are proud to be a community of courageous advocates who stand up for the common good. We believe every person has value, purpose and potential, and that everyone has something important to contribute.
So our children learn to take responsibility, to care for themselves and others, to understand their own influence, to stand up for what is right, to challenge injustice, to ask big questions and to act for positive change.
