The school day rarely matches the working day. Breakfast Club and After School Club at Weeton St Michael's exist to close that gap, so your child has somewhere warm, familiar and safe to be at either end of the day, and you have one less thing to solve.
Both clubs are led by Mrs Reed, who knows every child here by name. That matters more than it sounds. Your child is not handed over to strangers in an unfamiliar hall at a quarter to eight in the morning. They walk into their own school, and someone who knows them says good morning.
7.45am to 8.45am, every day, £3.50 per child
Doors open at 7.45am, which is earlier than most schools manage and earlier than the national expectation of 8am. If you have a commute, that quarter of an hour tends to be the difference between comfortable and frantic.
Breakfast is a proper one: a range of low sugar cereals, toast and fresh fruit. We talk to you and to your child about what they like, and accommodate preferences wherever we can.
After eating, Mrs Reed runs a mix of colouring, table-top games and small world play, and from 8.15am the children head outside when the weather allows. By the time the school day starts they have eaten well, moved about and settled, rather than arriving at the gate in a rush.
Until 4.30pm for £4.00, or until 5.30pm for £8.00
After School Club runs in the school hall, again with Mrs Reed. Children have a snack when they arrive, then time to unwind with a variety of games and activities.
There are two finishing times, so you only pay for the time you actually need. A short session to 4.30pm covers the gap for a lot of families. The longer session to 5.30pm is there for full working days.
The aim is for the end of the day to feel restful rather than like more school. Children who want to make a start on homework can, but nobody is made to.
Who looks after your child
Both clubs are led by Mrs Reed, a member of our own school staff. She is a familiar face to every child in the school, not an outside contractor who changes each term.
All staff working with children hold enhanced DBS clearance and follow the same safeguarding policy as the rest of the school. Mr Luke Smith, our Headteacher, is our Designated Safeguarding Lead and has oversight of wraparound provision.

We do ask that 24 hours notice is maintained where possible so that Mrs Reed can plan aherad and ther school can ensure that it has adequate resources in place.
Many families can reduce the cost using Tax-Free Childcare. If you are not sure whether you qualify, the government's Childcare Choices website will tell you in a few minutes.
Term time provision
Breakfast Club and After School Club run during term time. We do not currently offer holiday provision on site. Families in Lancashire can find local holiday clubs through the county council, and children eligible for free school meals can access free places through the Holiday Activities and Food programme.
