About our school

Why Weeton

A small village school where every child is known by name, nurtured, and encouraged to flourish.

Our story

A small school with a big heart

Weeton St Michael's is a small village school where children grow up known, valued and part of something close. Being small is our greatest strength. With everyone known by name, no child is ever a face in the crowd, and every family becomes part of a warm, close-knit community.

From their very first morning in Reception to the day they leave us in Year 6, our children are encouraged to be curious, kind and confident, and are given the time and care to become the very best version of themselves.

Our vision

From small beginnings, great things grow

We are a small school with a big heart and even bigger aspirations. Inspired by the parable of the mustard seed, we believe that the smallest of beginnings can grow into something remarkable.
It is a belief that shapes everything. Because our classes are small, we have the time to truly know each child, not just their name, but how they think, what lights them up, and exactly how to help them flourish. Here, no child slips through the middle. Every child is nurtured, stretched and encouraged, with faith and community as their foundation, and helped to grow from a small beginning into all they are capable of becoming.

"The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants." Matthew 13:31 to 32

faith and distinctiveness

Faith at the heart of all we do

As a Church of England school, our Christian values run quietly through everyday life. They shape how we treat one another, how we welcome every family, and how we mark the seasons of the year together.

Children of all faiths and none are warmly welcomed. Collective worship is a calm, reflective part of our week, and our close friendship with St Michael's Church is something we treasure.
It is where our children learn that everyone matters, and that even the smallest person can make a real difference in the world.
