What we are learning

As Mathematicians we are...

Year 3 and Year 4 are both focusing on place value, addition and subtraction, and multiplication and division.

As Readers and Writers we are...

As readers and writers we will be starting with 'Ocean Meets Sky', a dream narrative where we can explore stories through dreams. After half term we will be reading 'Hortense and the Shadow', a ship's captain log.

As Investigators we are...

Science: Electricity. Identifying common electrical components, exploring how to create a complete circuit and investigating which materials conduct electricity.

As Enquirers we are...

Geography: Why do people live near volcanoes? History: Anglo-Saxon Britain, exploring who the Anglo-Saxons were, why they came to Britain and how Anglo-Saxon Britain changed over time. RE: Where and why do people of faith pray?

As Creators we are...

Art: Drawings, learning about painting and mixed media and how we can use light and dark tones to create a piece of artwork. Music: Indonesian music, adapting and transposing motifs from different eras. PE: swimming, and gymnastics focusing on balance and presentation.

As Communicators we are...

Computing: Online Safety, developing an understanding of how to stay safe and responsible when using the internet and digital devices. French: phonics and animals.

As Young People we are...

Learning about ourselves and our relationships with others. We will particularly look at working together and how we can solve friendship problems.
