Making Maps

What we are learning

As Mathematicians we are...

Matching objects and pictures, sorting and comparing amount, size, mass and capacity, exploring patterns and working on numbers 1 to 3.

As Readers and Writers we are...

Reading 'The Something', focusing on phase 1 to 2 phonics. Listening, discussing, retelling with pictures and prompts, and beginning to write labels and captions.

As Investigators we are...

Science: I am a Scientist. Investigating push and pull, loud and quiet, light and dark, float and sink, freeze and melt, using all five senses to observe closely.

As Enquirers we are...

Geography: Making Maps, recognising that maps represent real places. History: Me in the Past, comparing old and new toys. RE: I Am Special, and Harvest.

As Creators we are...

Art: Marvellous marks and self portraits, using wax crayons, felt tips and chalk. PE: Fundamental movement skills based on The Hungry Caterpillar.

As Communicators we are...

Computing: All about instructions. Following a sequence, giving instructions to others and exploring buttons and switches.

As Young People we are...

Building friendships, taking turns in conversation, using sentences to communicate ideas and asking questions to further our curiosity.
