Acorns

Welcome to our Acorn class page. Here you will find lots of information about all that is happening in our classroom!

Acorn class is taught by Mrs Pilkington and currently by Mrs Beavers and is supported by Mrs Reed and Miss Dolan.

Spring 1. We started this half term with a wonderful trip to Blackpool Zoo. We had a wonderful day and all the children behaved beautifully.

EYFS -

Our 'I wonder' statement for this half term is 'I wonder what the differences are between hot and cold places'. In literacy, we will be reading the stories One Snowy Night by Nick Park and Handa's Surprise by Eileen Browne. In maths, we will be consolidating our understanding of numbers up to 10 and the children will be introduced to mass and capacity. Please see the curriculum overview below to find out more.

Years 1 and 2 -

Years 1 and 2 will be exploring the question 'Who are and were the famous people of the North West and the UK?' We will think about what makes someone famous and will learn about some famous people from the local area! In English, we will be reading the classic story of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter, and in maths we will be continuing out understanding of place value, and begin units on multiplication and division. Please see the curriculum overview below to find out more.

Our PE days our Tuesday and Wednesday. Please send your child into school in their PE kit on those days.
